Ettore Fico – Dialoghi contemporanei. Un artista, un museo, una collezione has been expressly conceived for the spaces of Fondazione Bevilacqua La Masa in Piazza San Marco, Venice, and precedes the celebrations of the 10th anniversary of the opening of MEF in Turin. These "dialogues" take place between the works of the Master and the international contemporary artists featured in the museum's collections.
The exhibition is divided into 6 thematic sections corresponding to the number of rooms at the Venetian Foundation's venue. In each of them, the dialogue between the works of the Master and those of contemporary artists revisits the themes that have always been and continue to be at the heart of artistic creativity: "Who are we? Where do we come from? Where are we going?" These were the questions posed to the viewers by Gauguin in 1897 with his famous painting of the same title. These are questions that remain relevant for artists and all individuals who, through art, seek to provide answers to the profound mysteries of existence.
The interpretation, decoding of the world, and its translation into images deliver a personal but also universal vision and interpretation that only works of art can convey, becoming the key to understanding and a testament to the times in which they were created.
