Sergio Gioberto was born in Turin in 1952.
Marilena Noro was born in Rosta (TO) in 1961.
They live and work in Turin.

Gioberto Noro focus on visual perception and have chosen contemporary art as the field in which to operate. Current visual culture is profoundly influenced by the model of "perspective," far more deeply than during the Renaissance. A model designed to bring order and measure to vision, which, if used unwittingly, might anesthetize the gaze, turning into a barrier that separates us from reality, instead of being a compass that helps us navigate the visual chaos surrounding us. Gioberto Noro's poetic investigation aims, through the reconfiguration of the concepts of space, distance, and depth, to raise awareness of the distances and voids existing between things and people, making participants aware of the essence of perception. Their practice is, in some ways, paradoxical: to truly see and revitalize vision, they use a medium — photography — that contracts and limits the visual field.
