Gallerie Guzzetti is the new Milanese home of a private art collection that gracefully opens itself to the public and to confrontation as a moment of growth. The space has a dimension that is as collected as it is hospitable, generous in welcoming different gazes, unprecedented collaborations and constructive comparisons. It houses a heterogeneous collection, constantly growing, which does not set limits on techniques, artistic movements, eras or origins, and travels the history of art with freedom, from antiquity to the present day, guided exclusively by the continuous search for beauty.
An inner beauty that is concealed within the canvas, in the impasto of the sculpture, in the photographic gesture. A reserved beauty, but at the same time strong and vibrant.
A beauty found in the Italian movement of the twentieth century with Marino Marini and Mario Sironi, in the Roman School with Giuseppe Capogrossi, in the Informal with Alberto Burri, in Analytical Painting with Rodolfo Aricò, in Visual Poetry with Emilio Isgrò, in the 1970s "extra media" of Ugo La Pietra, in the Transavanguardia with Sandro Chia, in the expressionist painting of the 1990s of Emilio Tadini.
In the photographic medium, the great protagonist, through the lens of different generations of women artists, photographers and artists such as Carlo Mollino, Don McCullin, Jan Dibbets, Luigi Ghirri, Rudolf Sikora, Giovanni Chiaramonte, Paola De Pietri, Lala Meredith-Vula, Luisa Lambri and Emily Jacir.
In the light and engaging sacredness of objects from distant traditions: prehistoric fossils, bronze daggers from ancient China, Sicilian majolica from different eras, African ancestral figures from the 19th century, jars and pitchers from the 17th century onward.
And yet, beyond the history that has already been written, it is above all to the present and the future that the collection, with confidence and care, devotes itself, giving space to the work of artists such as Monica Bonvicini, Elisabetta Benassi, Francesco Jodice, Carlos Amorales, Marzia Migliora, Eugenio Tibaldi, Francesca Grilli, Giorgio Andreotta Calò, Luca Trevisani, Ana Manso, Nicola Martini, Lupo Borgonovo, Laurie Kang, Lorenza Longhi, and Sarah Benslimane.
