After an initial stop at Rocca Roveresca in Senigallia, the exhibition now arrives in the capital.
As the curators explain: "For centuries, the Adriatic has been a symbol and a place of multicultural dialogues; for generations, it has been the ultimate destination, the sentimental and formal platform of a certain 'Journey to Italy.' Always, the Eastern sea—the sea of intimacy as described by Predrag Matvejevic—has shaped forms of knowledge transmission and storytelling, offering a point of view on modernity, consumer civilization, and relationships between landscapes, between coast and inland, the Apennines and the sea. Today, the Adriatic still embodies the holiday, the sea, the journey with its imagery, the myth of leisure and adventure, culture and events, the temporary residence that fosters hospitality and connection."
Paola De Pietri, Luca Capuano, and Pierluigi Giorgi are the three artists who, through distinct yet complementary photographic languages, present an aesthetic and social reflection of this transitional and border space between sea, hills, and built environment. In Paola De Pietri's project, "Scritto col sole", the hidden life of places and public spaces emerges through the subtle yet profound changes of the land in anticipation, captured with a perspective that follows the cycle of the summer season: a promise, a project, a life experience.
