Palazzo dei Musei, Reggio Emilia
Through the depiction of the Via Emilia in a deeply transformed landscape, the narrative of constructing a major infrastructure like the high-speed railway (TAV), and the exploration of cultural and social themes such as public healthcare, welfare, labor, and the new spaces of production, Linea di Confine has amassed a body of documentation of immense cultural and artistic value. This work captures the socio-economic transformations of the Emilia region and beyond, highlighting the public function that photography can serve within the realm of commissioned projects.
Following its initial exhibition in 2003 at the Fotomuseum in Winterthur, Switzerland, the show at Palazzo dei Musei in Reggio Emilia marks the first comprehensive presentation of the Linea di Confine collection. Updated with works produced up until 2022, it is accompanied by documents, interviews, publications, and photographic records of the most significant moments in the association's activity.
