The exhibition Beyond the Safe Zone is rooted in various forms of contemporary conflict and uncertainty. When the illusion of safe zones is gone, how can we strengthen the sense of security and community, both as individuals and as a society? In security policy, "safe zones" often refer to protection zones or humanitarian areas intended to shield civilians from war, violence, or persecution. But a safe zone does not necessarily have to be about physical protection—it can also be about spaces of community, healing, and resistance; places that give marginalized groups a voice.
