Dreams Archive is the title of an exhibition presenting various works by Eva Frapiccini developed as part of her long-term research on dreams, built around the installation Dreams’ Time Capsule: an inflatable, itinerant, and inhabitable capsule in which, between 2011 and 2023, the artist collected more than 2,300 dream narratives in thirteen cities around the world.
For the occasion, the exhibition’s space AuditoriumArte is transformed into a multimedia archive that activates the collected materials as living matter. Audio, images, and video convey the relational nature of the project. Dreams Archive thus takes shape as a device for viewing, listening, and sharing, capable of revealing the archetypal nature and collective dimension of the dream
imaginary transcending geographical, cultural, and linguistic boundaries.
The three works in the exhibition - Dust of Dreams*, Dreamscape* and H.D.M. – Hommage to Duane Michals -, are created in collaboration with video, sound, and performance artists and represent three different interpretations of the dreams gathered by the artist over the years.
* Both works are productions by Albumarte Roma, created in collaboration with Forevergreen within the Electropark Festival 2022 and 2023, with the support of Fondazione Compagnia di San Paolo as part of the ArtWaves funding.
