Gianfranco Botto was born in Turin in 1963.
Roberta Bruno was born in Turin in 1966.
They live and work in Turin.
From the beginning of their collaboration, Botto&Bruno have explored the uncharted territories of marginality, physical and mental boundaries, and existences destined to be lost in the void, always in search of new forms of vitality and poetry. They work with photography, deconstructing it using collage, imprimatura, and drawing. Their installations, which occupy the entire exhibition spaces, are first manually retouched and then enlarged.
They have collaborated with theater productions designing, among other things, the costumes and set design for Don Giovanni directed by Davide Livermore (2005) and the set design for Quattro Atti Profani directed by Valter Malosti (2009).
