On October 12, as part of the GIORNATA DEL CONTEMPORANEO, the exhibition CORNERSTONES opens in the underground spaces of Barletta Castle. Curated by Giusy Caroppo and promoted by OPERA OMNIA, a project directed by Francesco M. Asselta and supported by the “Radici e Ali” initiative from the Apulia Region.
CORNERSTONES represents "cornerstones," pillars, foundations, and the sacred backbone of the creative and educational system. This conceptual allusion is reflected in the trans-disciplinary project, developed in collaboration with the Academy of Fine Arts of Foggia from an idea by outgoing director Pietro Di Terlizzi. The exhibition presents a diverse range of disciplines through significant works by renowned Italian artists who have taught or are still teaching at the Academy of Fine Arts of Foggia, including Bianco-Valente, Antonio Biasiucci, Domenico Borrelli, Raffaele Fiorella, Paolo Grassino, Igor Imhoff, Vito Maiullari, Marco Neri, Perino&Vele, Leonardo Pivi, Maria Grazia Pontorno, Pierluigi Pusole, Giuseppe Teofilo, and Nicola Verlato. The works—sculptures, photographs, paintings, and multimedia installations—are arranged in a way that engages the viewer emotionally, offering an immersive journey that enhances the teaching of contemporary art languages to a diverse audience.
The exhibition is sponsored by the Municipality of Barletta, with support from 2STARS and Universo Salute/Don Uva. Executive coordination is led by Francesca Bianchi, with Michela Laporta managing the educational project for Eclettica Cultura dell’Arte. Visual identity and press office are managed by PROFORMA.
