A symposium, a participatory lab, and a workshop on Just Transition. Reciprocity is a two-part project (September 2024 – March 2025) that explores Turin and Málaga—two different cities, both affected by gentrification. Málaga’s historic center is being transformed by mass tourism, yet it is also witnessing the rise of resistance movements, such as La Casa Invisible, where civic engagement, architecture, art, and culture become tools for change.

The second chapter of the project will take place on February 28 and March 1, 2025, at La Casa Invisible and Imprenta Matriz in Málaga. The event will feature a printmaking workshop, an exhibition, and a public talk focused on Reciprocity and The Rehabilitation of La Casa Invisible – Chapter I. The discussion will explore the parallels between the two contexts, their struggles, and the effects of touristification.

During the symposium held in Turin on September 20–21, 2024, at Toolbox Torino, participants contributed to the finalization of Eva Frapiccini’s artwork by adding phrases and words that emerged from the listening sessions.

Reciprocity is a project conceived by visual artist Eva Frapiccini and promoted by Print Club Torino, in collaboration with La Casa Invisible, artists Libia Castro & Ólafur Ólafsson, the research center FULL – Future Legacy Lab at Politecnico di TorinoLabOnt – Laboratory of Ontology at Università di Torino, and the Asociación de Arte Útil, an international platform that promotes art as a tool for social change. Reciprocity has been made possible thanks to the financial support of the Culture of Solidarity Fund, promoted by the European Cultural Foundation.
