Perino & Vele is an artistic duo known for their distinctive style, which translates a figurative imagination into sculptures and large-scale installations. They surpass limits and barriers through irony, driven by a strong sense of responsibility which also features in their choice of materials, with a preference for papier-mâché. Their sculptures have a clear civic value, inspired by the tensions of contemporary society and aspiring to overcome them. In 1999, they were selected by Harald Szeemann for the Venice Biennale. They also participated in the XIII International Sculpture Biennale (Carrara), the Triennale di Milano in 2010, and the XV Quadriennale di Roma in 2008.
